The physical aspects of yoga lured AninA (Maria) onto the yogic path. The first few years she enjoyed the challenges of mastering fancy poses and liked the energy of practicing the strengthening and demanding style of Ashtanga. After some injuries and her first teacher training in Mysore, India she soon realized that besides of having a tool to get your body in shape Yoga can be adapted to many more needs.

Her interest shifted dramatically and she started to explore more therapeutic approaches and over several years she collected methods to help people not bound to any specific school or style. From non violent communication, different styles of meditation, chanting and some methods coming from chinese medicine, to very gentle sequences inspired by the style of Mark Whithwell AninA filled her Toolbox with a wild mix of techniques she likes to vary depending on the needs of the students.

Her classes usually start with some Pranayama and Kriyas to allow the students to arrive and prepare for the asanas. The sequence of asanas are teached in form of a slow flow. The movements are calm but strong, always initiated by the breath. They can come from styles like Forrest Yoga, can be part of a Anusara sequence, sometimes its more a YinYoga style class. AninA likes to weave in a theme her students can reflect on - so that the practice doesn’t only stay a physical exercise.

Her passion for Kirtan got ignited when she joined a chanting workshop -  Kirtan Flight School with one of the most successful Kirtan artist of the contemporary scene Dave Stringer. She loves to play the Harmonium and sing Bhajans. Check out her album she recorded with her own songs. And don't be surprised if you get woken up from Savasana by a song!

Having an art background AninA likes to be creative in her sequences so she is always mixing in new elements and trying out unconventional approaches. The only rule she tries to apply is not following any Dogma.
